INJURY REHAB
Injury rehab refers to improving the strength, coordination and flexibility of your spine. The goal of rehab is to give a better quality healing process and to prevent future problems. Here just like with massage, we offer these services for injury treatment and for prevention and wellness.
Rehab Components
The McKenzie Method
The McKenzie method is one of the most effective treatments for many spinal conditions, especially disc problems. At SpinaCare a common part of our treatment is teaching patients specific McKenzie exercises. Patients can do these exercises on their own almost anywhere and without fancy equipment. This is great, because it gives the patient control over their condition and makes them less dependent on the doctor.
Core Stabilization Exercises
Did you know it takes only 20 pounds to damage your spine? To stay safe, your spine needs protection from your core muscles - the muscles around your trunk. Core stabilization has two facets: endurance and coordination. Your muscles need endurance, so they don't quit before you do. And, they need coordination. If your muscles cannot control your spine, they cannot keep it safe.
Flexibility
Everyone knows that staying flexible is important. What many people don't know is that some stretches can actually make your pain worse. As part of our injury re-hab, we assess which muscles need stretching and we teach the best way to stretch them.
